So what will our coding session looking Like?

Over the course of a few hours the kids will learn about Minecraft and get into using the creation tools. We will task the children with designing their own versions of games using Scratch, the programming software that is now part of the national computing curriculum.

For newcomers we start quite structured and ensure they are comfortable with the fundamentals. For the more experienced and talented we encourage them to start with a clean slate and work with them to create their own projects from concepts to finished project.

Creating games challenges numeracy, literacy, artistry, communication and problem solving during both individual and team challenges. The confidence this gives will nurture an interest in computer science that will stay with them forever.
